NearLink Launches as a Superfast Wireless Connection Technology, Outpacing Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has unveiled NearLink, a revolutionary short-range wireless connection technology that combines the best aspects of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. This groundbreaking technology boasts significant advantages over traditional wireless technologies, making it faster, more efficient, and significantly reducing latency.

Compared to conventional wireless technologies, Huawei claims that NearLink offers a range of benefits, including:

– 60% lower power consumption
– Six times faster data transmission speeds
– A latency that is just 1/30th of the average delay
– Improved anti-interference capabilities with a 7 dB improvement, ensuring a more stable connection
– Double the coverage distance
– Ten times more network connections

NearLink will be integrated into a wide range of devices, including smartphones, laptops, smartwatches, connected-home gadgets, electric vehicles, and industrial manufacturing equipment. It will be integrated into Huawei’s operating system, HarmonyOS 4, and is already being featured in their latest smartphone, the Mate 60.

The technology has garnered significant support from over 300 leading companies and institutions, both domestically and internationally, demonstrating its wide-reaching appeal and potential applications. Notably, the majority of companies involved with NearLink are Chinese, with renowned brands such as Hisense, Honor, and Lenovo. Taiwan’s Mediatek and French construction materials manufacturer St. Gobain are among the few international companies that have also embraced this innovative technology.

However, due to Huawei’s presence on a US sanctions blacklist, it is unlikely that NearLink will be rolled out on American devices. Apple has already introduced its own cutting-edge ultra-wideband (UWB) technology with the U1 chip. While UWB focuses more on highly accurate location tracking, NearLink offers significant improvements in terms of speed and latency.

With NearLink, Huawei has made a significant leap forward in short-range wireless technology, promising faster connections, reduced latency, and improved performance. As it rolls out across various devices, NearLink has the potential to enhance user experiences and pave the way for advancements in various industries.
